KARACHI – Stressing the importance of justice, National Assembly Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri said that a better society cannot be built without peace and justice in society. He expressed these views during his speech at the “Two-Day National Conference on Strengthening Parliamentary Oversight for Peacebuilding and Sustainable Development and Strengthening the SDG Task Force for Peacebuilding in Africa. Pakistan ”held here on Tuesday. The conference was organized by the Organization for Sustainable Social Development (SSDO). “We have to unite to make society a better place; he said, adding that it was our responsibility to provide the facilities to the regions from which we were elected, ”he said. Regarding the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Vice President said that the role of the provinces was important to this end and that the federal government was doing its best to accomplish the task of the SDGs. Speaking about the environmental issue, he said the prime minister had started a project to plant ten billion trees and that the world appreciated it. The uniform curriculum was introduced by the government to ensure quality education in the country and a curriculum would be taught in public and private schools, he informed. In addition, “the health card is given to the population and in addition, the subsidy is provided to support the vulnerable class of society,” he said. Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said that despite having the majority at home, the coalition government was formed in Sindh province because we could work together to bring peace here. Until 2013-14, Karachi was considered one of the most dangerous cities in the world, but we have all worked with institutions to bring peace, the chief minister said, adding that after peace, the development work had started.
